Club demands Tebas resign, Endrick shines in Rome and Vinicius ban upheld

Real Madrid hit back hard after Javier Tebas compared the club's media to Nazi propaganda. Endrick's MVP night in Rome is still the talk, Vinicius will serve his four-game ban, and Sevilla come to the Bernabéu on Sunday.

Real Madrid demand Tebas's resignation

The war of words with LaLiga took an ugly turn. In a social media post, LaLiga president Javier Tebas compared the way Real Madrid and Real Madrid TV communicate with Nazi propaganda, even invoking Goebbels. He accused the club of picking out certain plays, repeating grievances and naming enemies. The post followed a report in El Debate about Madrid's complaints over LaLiga kick-off times, especially the Valencia game on 7 November.

The club answered with an official statement. It called the comparison absolutely intolerable and extraordinarily serious, coming from someone who holds two of the top posts in Spanish football, and demanded that Tebas step down. Despite the clash, LaLiga confirmed that Madrid will keep their seat on its Comisión Delegada. The club returned to that body in 2024 with the backing of Valladolid and Real Sociedad.

Rome comeback: Endrick steals the show

The 4-3 comeback win over Roma in the Champions League is still being talked about, and much of the praise is going to Endrick. He had played only four minutes all season and his name had come up in talk of a January exit. He came off the bench, changed the game and was named MVP in about half an hour, something nobody else has managed this season. Afterwards he said he works every day to help the team. One side effect: Brahim's minutes look even harder to come by, and he has not played since 15 September.

It was also a special night for Carlos Espí, who scored his first Champions League goal. Mourinho said the team now has six points, which he sees as half the road to qualification. He also thanked the Roma fans for the warm welcome he got at the Stadio Olimpico, calling it a moment of emotion and eternal gratitude.

The win did not quiet the critics. Former player Álvaro Benito called the performance a death foretold and said the team struggles badly to win the ball back against sides who keep it well. He believes drastic decisions are needed. The debate over Fede Valverde's position is back too: Xabi Alonso's view was that he belongs on the right, at full-back or on the wing, rather than in a double pivot. There is also talk that the squad players' good showing is shaking up the pecking order around Mbappé.

Vinicius ban stays at four games

The RFEF Appeals Committee has upheld the four-match suspension on Vinicius for his red card against Villarreal. Two games are for the straight red after he pulled Saliba's hair and two are for his protests at the referee. Vini has been honest about his form. He admitted he is far from his best and promised to get back to the player who once ruled world football. Jorge Valdano said the Brazilian needs to understand his role in the team. Some pundits think the ban may actually make Mourinho's selection choices easier for now.

Bellingham reaches 150

Jude Bellingham played his 150th game for the club against Roma and was given a commemorative shirt at Valdebebas. He said the team has to keep working and improving. He also laughed off being called a veteran, pointing out that he is only 23. Separately, AS reports that he has agreed a new deal running to 2031, replacing his current contract that ends in 2029. That is still a rumour until the club confirms it.

Sevilla next at the Bernabéu

After Thursday's day off, the squad has started preparing for Sevilla, who visit the Bernabéu on Sunday at 21:00. Sevilla coach Luis García Plaza had warm words for Mourinho. He said winning in Madrid would take a perfect performance.

Off the pitch

  • The club has hired Bernd Reichart, CEO of A22 Sports Management, to join its economic structure.
  • A new CIES Football Observatory report says Madrid have increased the value of their signings from the last five years by 526 million euros.

Basketball

  • Madrid lost on the road in the EuroLeague. Feliz hit eight three-pointers against Asvel, and coach Pedro Martínez said the team played a very good first half.
  • The EuroLeague Super Cup was presented to the fans at the Movistar Arena, with Tavares named MVP.
  • Llull was chosen as the Most Healthy Player of the 2025-26 season.
  • Alberto Herreros and Cristóbal Rodríguez were inducted into the Spanish Basketball Hall of Fame.
  • Madrid host Bilbao Basket on Sunday, and the youth side visits Casademont Zaragoza looking for a third win in Liga U.
